Contribution to UNESCO's programmes The ASPBAE, an active organization with a strong presence in its allotted region, has not, probably owing in part to the distance between this region and UNESCO Headquarters, contributed to the Secretary-General’s different consultations. It collaborates very actively, however, in the regional programmes (Education for All network, co-operation with UNESCO Bangkok). It is a full member of the International Council for Adult Education, which has admitted it to formal consultative relations. In view of the encouragement reflected in the Directives for strengthening NGOs in the developing countries, it is nevertheless recommended that the Bureau be admitted simultaneously on an individual basis to operational relations.
