Contribution to UNESCO's programmes AASU enjoys a good geographic extension given its regional nature but has experienced some difficulties, thus leading to irregular cooperation with UNESCO which has prevented it from keeping UNESCO regularly informed of its activities. This organization does not meet the requirements for admission to formal relations. Working in several of UNESCO's priority fields, notably Africa, youth, and the least developed countries, and representing a significant network of students, it could be an important partner of UNESCO in the organization of future regional consultations, and cooperation with it deserves to be revitalized.
