Contribution to UNESCO's programmes
GALE has been involved in a number of joint activities with UNESCO on sexual diversity and human rights education: UNESCO Brazil (Brasilia) supported the GALE Implementing Partner Organization CEPAC to carry out a survey on sexual diversity education in Latin America (funded by UNAIDS Brazil) in May 2008; UNESCO Bangkok office is part of the Asian GALE Strategy Group since October 2007; the Section for Teacher Training has been part of the development group to design a teacher training module on sexual diversity; GALE attended the 48th session of the International Conference on Education in 2008 as part of the Dutch delegation. The organization proposes to collaborate further with UNESCO in the areas of universal access to HIV prevention, care and treatment, inclusive education, non-discrimination and diversity policy.
